McGowan Woods and Meadow

Description

Every tree in McGowan Woods is numbered! Ecologists and foresters have documented the history of this forest and the growth of each tree, noting how the structure of the forest has changed over time. McGowan Woods is very important for teaching and research, and many Cornell classes visit it. It is particularly a favorite stop in the spring, when the wildflowers are in bloom before the tree canopy leafs out.
